The Type of Personal Information We Collect
I currently collect and process the following information when you book a ticket, sign up for updates, or attend an event:
Name
Email address
Phone number (if provided)
Event booking details
Survey or feedback responses
How We Get the Personal Information and Why We Have It
Most of the personal information I process is provided directly by you, for example when you:
Book a place at one of our events
Join the mailing list
Contact me with a question or message
Fill out a survey or give feedback
I use this information to:
Confirm and manage your booking
Send you event updates, reminders or changes
Share feedback forms or resources after the event
Send occasional marketing updates (if you’ve opted in)
Respond to enquiries
I use trusted third-party providers (e.g. Eventbrite and Stripe) to manage bookings and payments. They handle your personal data securely and only as necessary to provide these services.
Under the UK GDPR, the lawful bases I rely on for processing this information are:
(a) Your consent – You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing me at hello@thecalligraphycollective.com
(b) We have a contractual obligation – e.g. to process and confirm your event booking
(f) We have a legitimate interest – e.g. to improve our events, respond to enquiries, or communicate with attendees
How We Store Your Personal Information
Your information is securely stored on protected systems provided by trusted third parties (e.g. email platforms, booking software).
I only keep your data for as long as necessary:
Booking and event-related info is kept for up to 12 months after the event
Mailing list data is stored until you unsubscribe or request removal
After that, your information will be securely deleted or anonymised.

Under data protection law, you have rights including:
Right of access – Ask for copies of your personal information
Right to rectification – Ask for inaccurate or incomplete info to be corrected
Right to erasure – Ask for your personal data to be deleted in certain situations

Right to data portability – Request your data in a usable digital format
You don’t have to pay to exercise your rights, and I have one month to respond.
